Tone Production with David Krauss

Is your sound on the trumpet more “forced” than flowing?

A resonant, beautiful tone: it’s the hallmark of great trumpet playing. Many players, however, fall into producing a harsh, blaring tone — especially when attempting to project their sound. How do you achieve a tone that’s powerful and beautiful, without straining?

The answers are here. In this detailed 6-part course, MET Orchestra principal trumpet David Krauss reveals how to harness your breath, tongue, and technique for brilliant, meaningful tone production across registers. By putting these secrets to use, you’ll produce a brilliant tone that can only be yours…one that will make a true impression on your listeners.
