Charlie Porter is a multi-talented trumpeter and composer, and a significant contributor to both the jazz and classical music scenes.
Before college, Porter attended the Palm Beach County School of the Arts. He then went on to earn degrees in jazz and classical performance from The Juilliard School and Manhattan School of Music. At Juilliard, he studied under the renowned Wynton Marsalis. Porter was also a Fulbright Scholar at the Paris Conservatory, and was the first trumpeter to win 1st place in both the classical and jazz divisions of the National Trumpet Competition.
In the years since, Porter has established himself as a virtuosic performer, earning acclaim for his solo albums and collaborations with renowned artists across various genres. A GRAMMY-winner, Porter has toured globally as both a bandleader and side-man, performing with jazz legends, classical virtuosos, and world music stars.
He is currently an adjunct professor at New York University.
