Yamaha Performing Artist Allen Vizzutti is celebrated for his versatility across diverse musical styles, crafting an engaging persona and sublime performances in classical, jazz, and beyond.
Vizzutti’s journey began in Montana under the guidance of his self-taught musician father. He honed his craft at the Eastman School of Music, and would earn a Performer’s Certificate, a position in the Eastman Brass Quintet, and the first Artist’s Diploma awarded to a wind player.
Vizzutti’s compositions have been premiered by prestigious orchestras, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Royal Philharmonic of London, and the Nuremberg Symphony. Vizzutti is also a prolific recording artist, having recorded standout solo jazz productions, orchestral collaborations, and more. His distinctive sound can be heard on over 150 movie and game soundtracks, including Star Trek, Back to the Future, Halo, and Medal of Honor.
In addition to Eastman, Vizzutti has taught at the Banff Centre, the Trompeten Akademie in Bremen, the Skidmore Jazz Institute, and the University of South Carolina, to name a few. His instructional books, The Allen Vizzutti Trumpet Method and New Concepts for Trumpet, are essential resources for trumpet players globally.
